WELCOME TO YOUR SPACE

Compassionate Care

Hi, I'm Faradebah but also, I go by Fara. I work with individuals who are carrying the weight of trauma, life transitions, and deeply rooted emotional experiences that can feel hard to put into words. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, unseen, or disconnected from themselves—often after years of prioritizing others, navigating cultural expectations, or surviving environments where their needs were not fully acknowledged. In our work together, I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive space where you can begin to feel safe, heard, and understood.

Outside of the therapy room, I’m a mom who loves spending my down time in nature followed by a good cup of coffee/matcha. I’m a mother, daughter, friend, and member of my community. These roles keep me grounded in the real, everyday challenges women face. I bring that same down‑to‑earth, human perspective into our work together, so you don’t have to show up as anything other than yourself.

My time in acute care settings, supporting patients in oncology and palliative care, strengthened both my clinical competence and my capacity for empathy, ultimately shaping the therapist I am today. Presently, I volunteer with Narika, a South Asian Domestic Violence organization, to support Dari-speaking survivors of Domestic Violence through individual and group therapy. This work allows me to embrace my Afghan heritage, while also giving back to a population close to my heart.

In my own therapy journey, I have experienced physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness, which has deepened my empathy and strengthened my ability to support others holistically.

Credentials & Modalities

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Modalities

I utilize an integrative, trauma-informed approach that draws from multiple evidence-based modalities to support clients holistically. My work incorporates behavioral therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients build insight, develop coping skills, and create meaningful change. I also integrate body-based practices, including somatic therapy, to support nervous system regulation and deepen mind-body awareness. From a transpersonal perspective, I incorporate breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, and compassion-focused therapy to foster self-awareness, emotional healing, and connection to a deeper sense of self. Additionally, I explore family systems, attachment styles, and early childhood experiences to understand relational patterns and support clients in developing healthier, more secure ways of relating to themselves and others.

The Philosophy

THE JOURNEY

How We Work Together

What to Expect

In our sessions, you can expect a warm, judgment-free environment where your experiences are validated. We work together to identify patterns and develop practical strategies that integrate into your daily life, ensuring each session feels structured yet deeply personalized.

Anxiety & Depression

I support individuals experiencing anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, health anxiety, and depression. These challenges can show up as constant worry, racing thoughts, emotional heaviness, or feeling stuck and disconnected from yourself or your life. Together, we work to better understand these patterns, reduce distress, and build coping strategies that feel manageable and effective.

Relationships & Boundaries

I support individuals navigating relationship challenges, including toxic or narcissistic dynamics, codependency, separation, divorce, family conflict, parenting stress, and domestic violence. These experiences can feel confusing, draining, and emotionally overwhelming, especially when you’re trying to balance your own needs with the expectations of others. Together, we work to strengthen boundaries, improve communication, and build healthier, more secure connections. My approach centers on helping you feel more empowered, self-trusting, and clear in your relationships.

Caregiving

I support individuals experiencing caregiving burnout, work–life imbalance, and the demands of high-stress roles, including therapists and other helping professionals. Carrying the responsibility of caring for others can lead to emotional exhaustion, overwhelm, and feeling like your own needs are pushed aside. Together, we create space to process that load, restore balance, and reconnect with your own well-being. My approach focuses on helping you set sustainable boundaries, prevent burnout, and feel more supported in both your personal and professional life.

Fertility, Pregnancy, Postpartum & Motherhood

I support individuals through fertility journeys, pregnancy, postpartum, and the evolving experience of motherhood. This includes navigating the emotional ups and downs of trying to conceive, pregnancy, loss, and postpartum adjustment, as well as challenges such as anger, rage, PMDD, and perimenopause. Hormonal and life changes during these stages can deeply impact mood, identity, and relationships. Together, we create space to process these experiences, build emotional support, and help you feel more grounded, understood, and connected to yourself through each phase.

SPECIALIZED SUPPORT

Focus Areas

Life Transitions

I support individuals navigating life transitions such as high school stress, the shift from college to the workforce, career changes, relocations, identity exploration, and moments when the life you imagined no longer fits. These periods can feel overwhelming, uncertain, or even disorienting, and I provide a space to process those changes with clarity and compassion.

Self-Worth & Identity

I support individuals exploring self-worth, self-esteem, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, and internal conflicts related to identity, culture, and religion. These challenges can show up as self-doubt, harsh self-criticism, or feeling like you are never quite enough. Together, we work to untangle these patterns, build a more compassionate relationship with yourself, and develop a clearer, more grounded sense of identity. My approach focuses on helping you feel more confident, aligned, and accepting of who you are.

Trauma & Healing

I support individuals navigating the impact of single-incident and complex trauma, intergenerational trauma, minority stress, and family conflict or pressure. Past experiences can continue to affect your body, mind, and relationships in ways that feel confusing or overwhelming. Together, we move at a pace that feels safe to explore these experiences, process what you’ve been through, and reduce their ongoing impact. My approach is trauma-informed and centered on helping you build a greater sense of safety, resilience, and connection within yourself and your relationships.

Chronic/Serious Illness & Grief/Loss

I support individuals navigating chronic or serious illness, advanced care planning, end-of-life concerns, and experiences of grief and loss. These moments can bring up a wide range of emotions, including fear, sadness, uncertainty, and anticipatory grief. Together, we create space to process these experiences, make meaning of what you’re going through, and find ways to cope with both practical and emotional challenges. My approach is centered on compassion, dignity, and helping you feel supported through difficult and often life-altering transitions.
